It is finally Spring and it was time to decorate our boho balcony. This balcony has definitely been a process since I moved in in 2015. If you follow me on instagram you probably already have seen but I wanted share some more in depth information and photos with you and some links to where I shopped from.
The patio had been the priority sor far as we had to do quite a lot of landscaping so the balcony always looked pretty with furniture and a rug and all but it was not finished. I really started the process of turning it into a cozy boho balcony last summer and we finally finished some more things this Spring.
When we decorated the balcony we used mostly things which we already owned and “thrifted” my parent’s place for some more vintage touches and added more herbs and plants. The biggest change we made was our privacy screen. It was so old and broken and still from the previous owners.

So let’s decorate our boho balcony
We started by cleaning up the whole balcony and taking off the current privacy screen. We then brushed all the walls and ceilings with a broom before we deep cleaned it with a high pressure cleaner.

Once that was dry we added back the furniture. The rug is from here. I probably bought the chairs and the table when I was a teenager and had left them at my parent’s house for many years. When I bought this apartment in 2015 they were a great addition to the balcony and they are still in great shape.

We got the curtains last year from Ikea and they have been amazing. I love how they blow in the wind and give you privacy and sun protection. They always make me feel like I am back in the mediterranean especially with the wind-chime made of shells I got off ebay. I also love this new privay screen. We want to hang some plants on it yet but that is another project for another Saturday.

For final touches we planted fresh herbs and used all the decoration we still had and got some pretty solar string lights.

The only other thing left to do is DIYing a lampshade for the wall. I hope you like our “room makeover” where we decorated our boho balcony.
