I love putting together bucket lists of all the things we can do each season (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter) to remind us of the importance of slowing down and doing things we love. Well… until the corona virus forced us all to slow down. Nonetheless I want to spark some joy today and encourage us to do something else than watch Netflix and sit at home.
The spring 2020 bucket list
1. Go for walks
Germans love to go on walks and I have been walking/hiking a lot lately. It was absolutely wonderful watching the sun go down over the hills behind my house. It was beautiful to see the apple trees blossom and get away from screen time.
2. Clean and redo your outdoor space
If you happen to have a balcony or patio now is the time to pressure clean it and reorganize the space. Get some new pillows or re-dye your old pillows (as I did) and redecorate the place so you appreciate it more.
3. Plant something
Maybe you do not have an outdoor space but you can still get some plants and bring the outdoors in. I just recently started a little herb garden/herb collection and I am trying to learn and teach myself to keep them alive. I come from a gardening family so I do feel the responsibility to be able to take care of a garden. What I love about herbs is that they are pretty and practical. Here are the ones I got: rosemary, thyme (let us start singing that Simon & Garfunkel song), mint, wild chives, cilantro, basil, and I will get dill tomorrow.
4. Learn a few new recipes
Since all restaurant and cafés, stay closed for the time being, now is the perfect time to learn how to cook or challenge yourself to a new recipe each week. Oh and hey, you could use those herbs you just planted.
This is it, friends, the spring 2020 bucket list including no screen time and lots of time outdoors with plants.
I hope it encourages you and helps you make more of #stayhome
