New Year’s Eve is around the corner and as a single that can make you feel anxious, nervous and pressured to find the right thing to do. That is why I am going to share a few things on how to start the New Year as a single with you today.

To me it always felt like News Year’s was sneaking up on me because I was so focused on Christmas and getting everything ready.

And in order for that not to happen I would start planning the parties so I would not be alone. Because being alone on New Year’s Eve sounded like the saddest thing ever.

But a few years ago I ended up not having a plan. It took me a few days to adjust to the fact that I would most likely be spending New Year’s Eve alone.

It was in those few days that I learned a whole lot, which I want to share with you today.

How to start the New Year as a single

  1. It is ok to be alone. You are not less of a person because you are alone. Spending time alone can be awesome
  2. Let go oft he pressure. The New Year is not about the party and the plans. At the end oft he day it is what you make of it
  3. Set yourself up for a great year because how you start something determines how you finish something. If you end up being alone make the most of it whether that is getting a good night’s sleep or planning a date with yourself. You are the one who decides over your attitude.
  4. You are not a victim. Do not allow that kind of mentality to sink in. Remind yourself of all the things you do have and be thankful. Thankfulness changes everything.

All this to say, you are going to have an amazing year of 2020 and that has nothing to do with what you do on New Year’s Eve but what choices you make every single day. I hope this list of how to start the New Year as a single helped you and encouraged you today.

2020 will be YOUR year!

Much love
