one of those weeks

I have nothing to give

Posted: 18. October 2019 by Ramona

It has been one of those weeks where I feel like I have nothing to give because I am just trying to get from one day to the next. It has been one of those weeks where I left the house at 7 in the morning and never came home before 10 at night. I am not saying this to brag or to get sympathy. I do not like the glorification of business. It has just been that kind of a week and those happen.

What cannot happen though is being stressed out, angry, complicated and negative which leads to dropping everything because it is just “too much”.
I have watched this happen in other people’s lives and it makes me sad. I think dropping everything when it gets “too much” is the wrong approach because then you start dropping the things, which actually matter most.
I believe that if we define our essentials, the things, which matter most to us, it will make it a lot easier when those weeks come to keep pushing because you know WHY you are doing what you are doing. Here are the things that matter most to me and define my essentials:
God matters
People matter
Eternity matters

Everything I do needs to align with that.

Today I want to encourage you and help you make it through those weeks, days or even months and I have a few tips of what I do when I am having one of those weeks.

one of those weeks

I take care of my input. I already touched on this here, but what we fill our soul with determines the state of our soul. That is why this album has been on repeat wherever I went today.

I focus on the positive and not on the momentary situation. This goes back to knowing why I am doing what I am doing. It is not about filling my calendar but it all aligns with what matters most to me. People matter. That is why pushing hard and pushing to the limits and sacrificing a part of my time are not hard because it is for a bigger cause.

I keep my routines intact. This is a very practical thing but even if I have one of those weeks, I still take time to pray every morning. I still try to drink a cup of tea before I go to bed and I stay within my routines because by doing that I feel like I have more headspace to plan and think everything else through.

I have something to look forward to, which I believe is very important. For me that is taking a bath tonight and going to bed early. It could also be a nice dinner or meeting a friend.

Friends, do not give up when the going gets tough or when you are having one of those weeks, days of even months remember why you are doing what you are doing. You have it in you. Greater things are ahead of you. You are full of potential, full of talents and you have what it takes.

Much love
Ramona
