Remember the beginning of summer when we had all these big plans? Maybe you feel like you are running out of time for the summer. Maybe you feel like this summer passed in a snap but you still have not taken a daytrip of gone swimming. You can still make the most of this summer.
Yesterday I was at a friend’s house for dinner and she had this sign hanging in her hallway that said, “When God created time, he made enough of it.” Oh my goodness. So simple and so profound.
Sometimes we feel like we are running after time, trying to catch one more minute here and one more minute there when at the end of the day the way we spend our time is a matter of priority. What is most important to you?
I think I will have to touch on this another time but for now. How can we still make the most of this summer?
It is actually pretty simple. Instead of trying to do all the things. Try to do one thing. Look at your list or your imaginary list and pick one thing that you know you will absolutely be able to do.
Then take out your calendar, set a date and just do it.
In this case, like most of the times when we try to go after something it is easier if we try to do one thing instead of all the things.
Here are still a few ideas for your list:
- Go to the farmer’s market. This one is still on my list
- Watch a movie outside. You might need a few more blankets but go for it
- Throw a BBQ with some friends. The simplest thing you can do.
- Take a daytrip. Even if it is to the nearest forest to sit on a bench and journal.
Who is with me in still making the most of the summer? Leave your emoji below.
PS: I will be taking a short break from blogging next week because I’ll be traveling. Just me and my camera and nature. I am so excited to just be inspired.
