At the beginning of every summer I research all kinds of blogs on books I need to read this summer. And while it is still summer and we still have time to sit outside and read while the sun sets I put together a short list of 3 books to read this summer. They will encourage you for the fall and are a great way to already think ahead.
3 books to read this summer
1. The Shack
Ok I know I am super late to the game with this book because there is already a movie out. But I honestly hadn’t read the book until this July. And I loved it. I admit I sat on the patio balling my eyes out, but it is so so good and gives you some great things to think about .
2. Essentialism – the disciplined pursuit of less
This book completely changed how I view my time, to do lists and tasks ahead. It is not another thing I do it is supposed to be how you do everything. And I wish I was there, but it’s a learning curve, right? This book will be one you pick up, read a little, be challenged, put it down and pick it up again. Promise. It is that challenging. But it is also that good because it helps us put a filter on everything that comes our way and helps us figure out what is really essential to us.
And I just found out that it will finally come out in German.
3. Kale & Caramel: Recipes for body, heart and table
I admit I just recently got this beautiful book and I am still reading it. It is beautiful and what I love about it is that it is simple and uncomplicated. There are recipes to cook and recipes for beauty products. And it’s all no fuzz, quick, easy and doable. I love that.
What are you guys reading this summer? I would love to put together a list of book I still need to read. Let me know in the comments below.
I am reading “The Time Traveler’s Wife” this summer! Similar to you and The Notebook, I am late to this one, but have never seen the movie. I’m really enjoying it so far!
Oh yes!!! Thank you for reminding me to put this book on my list!!! I haven’t seen the movie either! Thank you.
